Our Process

We begin in Lake Tahoe with locally sourced alder, a hardwood from the Pacific Northwest with a warm honey color and a unique character of grain. Alder is a popular wood choice among fine furniture and cabinetry makers, and because of its knots and textures, each block takes on its own unique look.

The innovative embedded handle and solid wood design make this block like nothing else, so we treat it as such. Each piece is sanded smooth so hands can freely move on its surface with confidence. Each block undergoes a constructing process that requires 10 clamps, and each handle goes in, logo is burned, and block is finished by hand from raw materials to your doorstep.

We appreciate and value your recognition of our creatively inspired handmade blocks, made from nature, in the United States, by our small family business.
